Mission:
We’ve spent the last 234 years doing all that we could to help the people in our spheres of influence. The best and most brave among us have toiled on foreign soil to liberate others and to secure for all the blessings of liberty and we will not allow their sacrifices to be wasted on the misguided desires of international socialist architects. We’ve worked within Social Service organizations and Non-Profits of all shapes and sizes from coast to coast and from border to border. We’ve labored within the framework of these different organizations to feed the hungry, help pay utility bills, buy clothing and school supplies, and to give out as much common sense as we could. And we’ve often found it ironic that we had to fight against the very organizations that were writing our checks…frustrating!
How many times has the bureaucracy and red tape made it almost impossible to get anything substantial done…how many times have co-workers and individuals ended up making up the difference for folks who were just not having the need fully met. We empathized with the people because we’ve been there. Shoot, most of us are there right now but we’ve found some things out as a result; when you think you can’t do anything to help, you still can. When you think there’s no one there to help you, there is and that’s what Make My Stand is really all about. Taking personal responsibility for meeting a need is not just an idea, it's the creed!
This song is an anthem for all of us who decide to elevate from the norm. We’re saying that we’re not willing to just watch as those around us are forced to seek more and more help from a government that wants to exert control over our friends and neighbors. We sincerely believe it to be our civic, moral, and Christian duty to help the least of these by encouraging folks in whatever way we can. We believe the Bible when it says if a man asks you to go with him a mile, to go the extra mile. Let's make the idea of being our brother's keeper the new normal.
So if you're in...if you're saying that, "I'm gonna Make my stand," then your not going to leave the business of helping out your neighbor, standing up for our U.S. Constitution, and fighting against this tyrannical takeover to someone else!
Peace brothers and sisters and keep MMS in your prayers!

I was sitting in church several months ago listening to a Civil War reenactor (Brother Fred) tell the story of how his ancestors came to live in Middle Tennessee. It was an inspiring story that started way back in the War for Independence where his great, great, great, great granddad fought along side General George Washington and threaded all the way to his sermon that Sunday morning. Now this was no yarn because he gave dates and deeds proving the tale from start to finish. As he spoke, my mind raced with thoughts of the struggle and sacrifices that must have been required to make these men's dreams a reality. I was captivated by the bravery and selflessness of Pastor Fred's fore bearers. I couldn't help but wonder if I could have done what these souls had done for future generations. I left there with a bit of a quandary...when my time comes, will I be able to make my stand?

Drawing a LINE IN THE SAND...a metaphorical point beyond which no further advance will be accepted or made!
In the United States, the phrase is most commonly associated with Texas history surrounding the Battle of the Alamo, as it is attributed to Colonel William Travis, commander of the Alamo defense forces. In the waning days of the Battle (somewhere between March 3-5, 1836), with Mexican General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna having the Alamo completely surrounded, Santa Anna sent a messenger to Travis demanding surrender, or else everyone in the compound would be killed. According to the legend, Travis called the Alamo defenders together, explained that defeat was almost certain, and read the letter of surrender; Travis then (having chosen to die instead of surrender) reportedly pulled his battle sword, drew a line in the sand of the Alamo, and asked for volunteers to cross over the line and join him, understanding their decision would be irreversible. The legend states that all but one of the defenders (including Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett) joined Travis on his side of the line; Moses Rose being the only holdout. Travis then responded to Santa Anna's letter with cannon fire, whereupon Santa Anna replied by playing El Degüello or as some may translate, "Off with their heads!"
